It totals your hours against your target (NZ 25 or 30, AU 30, NREMT 60, or your state's), tracks what your regulator asks for (NZ culture hours, AU interactive hours, NREMT National/State/Individual hours, the HCPC's mix of activities) and flags anything still missing a reflection or evidence.

  • DOC

    Quick reflection template

What? So what? Now what? One page for everyday CPD: an article, a podcast, a short course, a job that made you think.

  • DOC

    Full reflection template (Gibbs)

Six guided stages for significant jobs and critical incidents, with prompts that get you past "I learned a lot".

Colin Bamforth

Made by a paramedic, for paramedics

I'm Colin Bamforth. I've spent nearly 40 years as a paramedic and clinical educator across New Zealand, Australia and the UK, and I've filled in more CPD logs than I'd like to count.

These templates are the ones I wish I'd had: quick to fill in on a day off, honest about what auditors actually look for, and clear about the difference between the NZ and Australian rules.

Questions

Good to know

Is this official regulator paperwork?

No. It's a set of templates to help you meet the requirements and keep good records. The Paramedic Council and the Paramedicine Board publish their own requirements, and those always come first. The pack follows them and links to them.

I don't have Microsoft Office. Will it work?

Yes. The log works in Excel, Google Sheets, Numbers and LibreOffice, and the templates open in Word, Google Docs and Pages. Every template is also included as a PDF you can print.

Which countries does it work for?

New Zealand (including specialist endorsements), Australia, the UK (HCPC) and the USA. Pick where you're registered in the log and it sets the target and tracks the extras: culture hours in NZ, interactive hours in Australia, the HCPC's mix of activities and benefit to service users, and the NREMT's National, State/Local and Individual hours.

My US state doesn't use the NREMT model. Will it still work?

Yes. Choose "USA – my state / other", type in your state's hours and cycle length, and the log tracks against them. Check your state EMS office for its current rules and approved courses.

Can I use it every year?

Yes. Save a fresh copy of the log at the start of each CPD year and keep the old one as your record.

Can I share it with my team?

The pack is licensed to the person who buys it. The free quick reflection template can be shared with anyone. A team licence for a whole station or service is US$49; get in touch to arrange one.
